Our School: Horses and Ponies
Our riding lessons are designed for all levels and ages. CEC prides itself in offering the finest schoolmaster horses and ponies, for riders to learn on professionally trained show quality horses and ponies. Our imported school horses and ponies are sound, safe and available for students to learn to ride and show. Students that do not own their own ponies and horses have the opportunity to show, with a competitive edge due to the quality and training of our riding school horses and ponies.
Our retired grand prix show horses and ponies are all currently showing the professional circuits, Hunter/Jumper "A" rated and Dressage circuit. CEC is located at The Horse Park at Woodside, the finest show facility in the peninsula.
CEC teaches on Welsh Ponies, as they are bred for children and their temperaments are kind, gentle, sweet and easy to handle and ride. The Welsh Pony is a beautiful pony with extraordinary movement and are extremely athletic. Our ponies are well trained in dressage and hunter/jumpers. We offer small, medium and large ponies. Our imported welsh ponies are gentle, trained and safe.
Our school horses and ponies are safe on trail, stand still, bathe, load easy into trailers, handle and lead safely and have no vices (bad habits).
Our Teaching Philosophy
Children riding ponies are able to handle ponies independently and safely. Riding lessons on ponies allow children to stabilize their body position, achieve self carriage, due to the ratio of size and movement. Bio mechanic studies show that it is easier for a child to learn on a pony, as the gaits (walk, trot, canter, the steps /movements) of ponies are so much smaller than the movement of horses and children are able to absorb the movement easier.
Children are able to put their saddles and bridles on without adults helping them reach. Children love the Independence to tack and un-tack their own ponies. Young students are able to do anything with their ponies, as they are perfect size in relation to children's height, even for a 5 year old! Young students do not have the frustration of always asking for help with a horse, as children are not able to reach, tack and handle horses safely alone.

CEC specializes in Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers and Hunter Ponies.
The Elite Riding School teaches Internationally renowned methods in all disciplines. CEC emphasizes a light, balanced seat with self carriage for both horse and rider, achieving harmony, balance and the unity of the horse and rider. Our gentle, humane approach teaches people to understand horses, communicate and learn to develop educated compassionate equine values as horsemen. The key to success is education and becoming a knowledgeable Horse Master and developing Horsemanship skills. CEC also emphasizes tutoring through our education classes through books, tapes, DVDs etc. Our theory classes are a fundamental part of our riding school and our disciplined program achieves exceptional results in the show ring.
CEC trains students on trail to achieve skills learning to ride, in natural terrain, besides just in an arena.
The Elite Riding School is an educational school, teaching discipline through working at the barn and caring for the horses. Our riding program trains students in the ring, in the classroom and at the barn.
