RIDING LESSONS

 

CEC provides training to riders of all ages and all levels.
Lessons may consist of work in the arena and on trails

 

 

Rates:

 

Clients enrolled into our Monthly Pre-Pay Program all pay a flat rate of $50 hour, whether group,private or semi-private, depending on the individuals needs.

 

Show Team lessons/3 per week $500 month

Theory Classes $30 for 2 hours

Horse Camp $100 for 2 hours

Horseback Riding Summer Camp $400 per week

Our school horses and ponies have a maximum of 2 rides a day.

 

Hourly Rates:

 

75 minute group lesson (max 6 riders) - $65

60 minute semi-private(2-3) lesson-$85

40 minute private lesson - $105

 

Safety stirrups are required for adults and children. The breakaway stirrup detaches and prevent a foot getting caught in a stirrup.

Safety Vests are recomended for daily riding and required for jumping and trail riding. (Beta 3 safety.)

Theory Classes

 

These 2-hour sessions focus on Showing, Horsemanship (the art of equitation) and Horse Mastership (the art of looking after all aspects of the horse) through discussion, posters, slides books and DVDs, and coursework.

Rates: $30 hour
$100 for 4 classes a month

 

Lesson Levels

 

Level 1: Includes learning how to safely handle, halter, lead and control your horse, mounting and dismounting properly, controlling your horse at the walk and trot, raising/posting trot, focuses on correct riding position and balance and basic rules for trail riding.

 

Level 2: Focuses on improved balance and riding position, beginning canter and pre-jumping exercises, beginning transitions and simple patterns. Includes additional trail riding experience and safety rules.

 

Level 3: Add more complex transition and pattern work, getting correct leads at canter, backing up the horse, riding figures, basic dressage and lateral movements, riding on contact, beginning jumping and simple courses.

 

Level 4: Focuses on polishing the rider. A rider at this level should be proficient at horse balance and collection, working in extension and working gaits, perform dressage movements including flexion and bending, lengthening and shortening, leg yields, half halts, turning on the forehand and haunches, and lead changes. Jumping includes combinations, more complex courses and setting up your horse for a better take off position at jumps.

 

Riding Requirements

 

  • All riders must sign a waiver and provide current medical information. Minors will also need parental permission.
  • All riders are required to wear long pants, a boot with a heel, and an approved riding helmet. We have helmets and a tack store on site.
  • We have a 24-hour cancellation period. If you must cancel your lesson, please do so before this time and we can reschedule.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your lesson’s start time to allow time to find a properly fitted helmet, boots and tack up your horse.
  • All payments are expected at the time of the lesson.
